WWE Crown Jewel: 10 Things We Learned

4. There’s Merit In One Or Two Shawn Michaels Matches Per Year

Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and possibly another international special. Those are the only occasions WWE should think about for Shawn Michaels in the future. No throwaway Hell In A Cell nonsense, no berth on 'B' shows like TLC or Fastlane and no regular schedule.

At Crown Jewel, HBK showed he has some juice left in the tank. That juice must be used sparingly, otherwise it'll run out and he'll begin to overstay his welcome.

This isn't 2002, and Michaels isn't going to surprise everyone by slowly sliding back into a full-time run for the next eight years. He'd be much better off in The Undertaker's position and working one or two heavily-hyped bouts per year. In Saudi, he proved that kind of deal would be more than manageable.

Throughout his comeback match, Shawn looked better-equipped than Kane or Triple H to handle the workload. Some dodgy spots aside, he fought off the initial ring rust to show his brain is still wired for wrestling.
