WWE Crown Jewel 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

4. Drew McIntyre Wins Gold Before Going Heel

Note the wording there.

"Before" going heel. In other words, Drew McIntyre eventually turning full on heel is something you should get down to the bookies about. It's nailed on, and that seems to be true even if the big Scot neglects to put pen to paper on a WWE contract extension soon.

Putting the World Title on Drew mid-character arc would be too messy. Pro wrestling alignment changes are best kept as simple as possible. Plus, if McIntyre got the win on Saturday and held that belt aloft, what would he have to be mad about? It'd be like nothing ever happened between WrestleMania 36 and today.

No, no WWE cannot crown McIntyre champ before they know what's going on with his contract and before his on-screen presentation is more settled. Rollins' back injury story is still purring away, but he can soldier on for a while longer. If Drew is the guy to beat him later, fine. Just not at Crown Jewel pre-full on heel run.
