7. Damian Priest Gets “Injured”
Damian Priest represents another gateway diversion for Cody Rhodes before he inevitably gets back in the mix for World Titles heading into WrestleMania season. That's fine, but WWE must remember they've got a Money In The Bank winner to protect here too. It'd be a bit crap if Damian became Cody cannon fodder.
The good news is there's a way to get Rhodes the win and explain why Priest can't cash in his briefcase later in the show. Perhaps things get wild and woolly when JD McDonagh/other Judgment Day members and Jey Uso interfere. During that melee, Cody can score the 'W' and Damian can get kayfabe injured.
That'd be win-win for all concerned.
Why Priest hasn't gone for it and tried to win a World Title has become problematic to creative, which is why they need to find storyline outs to justify why the guy isn't just smashing fools and celebrating. Why, why, why. Provide some answers, dear writers!
