WWE Delays Tough Enough & Legends House Due To Budget Cuts

No word on when WWE "reality" shows will be filmed...

WWE.comWWE.comIf you were looking forward to the next season of WWE Legends House and the return of WWE Tough Enough then I'm afraid I've got some bad news. According to reports from F4WOnline.com, filming for Tough Enough has been delayed until at least October and the status of Legends House is up in the air. The plan was to start filming Tough Enough this week, but due to budget concerns they have delayed it. Once they were done Tough Enough they were supposed to start filming Legends House right after it. Now not only is the next season of Legends House delayed, but it may not happen at all. It's obvious that WWE is in serious cost cutting mode if they are going to cut out two programs that were supposed to air on WWE Network. They need content for the WWE Network to draw people in. Having old PPVs is nice, but you need some current stuff to keep people coming back. Right now they really only have NXT, Superstars (not a big deal) and those Countdown shows. The Monday Night War show is starting up, but really if you have the DVDs and you lived through it in the 1990s then it's not new to you. While WWE hasn't released the number of people that watched Legends House, the show did pretty well among viewers. Fans seemed to like it. The show was filmed in February 2012 with the idea that it would be on WWE's Network that was going to be released soon after. Since the Network launched two years later, that's when fans finally got to see the show. In addition to those shows being cut, WWE has completely cut out the Smackdown pre and post shows while Raw only has a pre-show at this point. They moved that from the arena to the studio last week as a way to save money. It keeps changing every week. The situation is a difficult one. The WWE Network is the main reason they are losing money due to all the costs that came with having to launch it, yet if you don't have a lot of new programming then it's extremely difficult to get people to pay for the WWE Network. While we don't expect too many major changes to the on screen product, the behind the scenes atmosphere in WWE right now is stressful for everybody involved.
