WWE Draft 2017: 10 Things That Need To Happen

6. Sami Zayn To SmackDown

Sami Zayn hasn't had the best time under the watchful eyes of Stephanie McMahon. Although he's been a consistently fantastic in-ring storyteller throughout feuds with Chris Jericho and Braun Strowman, Sami hit something of a low point at WrestleMania, when he was eliminated from the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal by Killian Dain.

As fun as his interactions with new RAW GM Kurt Angle were on Monday, a move to SmackDown still feels like the best direction for 'The Underdog from the Underground'. SmackDown desperately needs some fresh and exciting faces to make up its mid-card and main event ecosystems, particularly now that the Intercontinental Championship seems to have slipped back into mundane obscurity.

Sami has all the tools to become a World Champion-level babyface, he just needs to be given a shove in the right direction, and an opponent with whom he shares some real chemistry. He's not going to get there by beating Jinder Mahal, but he stands a much better chance by being paired off with the likes of AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, and Randy Orton.
