The annual WWE Draft will determine the fate of various Superstars...maybe.

In early February, WWE finalised the list of roster trades in the inaugural 'Transfer Window'. Per a recent report, the promotion has not yet finished reshaping the complexion of the Raw and SmackDown rosters.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider (h/t Cultaholic) - who answered a query on a recent Q&A - WWE is set to hold its annual draft, which is planned "for as soon as" the post-WrestleMania season. There is so confirmation on when exactly the draft will take place - or whether WWE plans to adhere to it strictly...

To recap, the following wrestlers were transferred to SmackDown: The Wyatt Sicks, The Miz, R-Truth, Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, and Zelina Vega.

Moreover, the following wrestlers officially "landed" on the Raw brand: Logan Paul, AJ Styles, Bayley, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

Already, however, WWE has reneged on the idea: Theory and Waller have spent much of the 'Road to WrestleMania' furthering their long-term teased split down in NXT, whereas Bayley wrestled on the February 28 edition of SmackDown, teaming with Bianca Belair and Naomi in a losing effort to Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

The Transfer Window was a bizarre experiment to which WWE barely committed. In parallel with a period defined by constant red herrings, rumours that top stars are angling for better WrestleMania spots, and the "bold and disruptive" threats of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, some WWE fans grew restless at this strange pseudo-draft. The idea that WWE didn't know what it wanted to do was difficult to shake.

And then Elimination Chamber happened, all but confirming that, at the top of the card at least, WWE had a grand plan the restored total belief in the creative process.

That said, the seemingly imminent Draft announcement might not quieten suspicions that SmackDown is a lesser concern in the wake of Raw on Netflix, which you'd expect WWE to flood with top talent.
