WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 Results And Analysis

Wyatts Vs The Shield

The promotion for this six man was brilliant and it lived up the promises and then some. The bout started with all six men facing off in the ring to "This is Awesome" chants. Fans are into it because WWE have booked properly defined characters who we are invested in, we want to see this fight and they have teased it in just the right way. They should learn some lessons from this in their booking of Orton vs Batista, which is the exact opposite of the creative common sense used in Wyatts vs The Shield. Early on all six men mixed up the action, with every man showing a top level understanding of in-ring psychology. Everything was being done with purpose to invest the crowd. When the bigger spots started getting worked in it provided some of the best visuals seen in a long time, and credit to Harper and Rowan who for big men showed some real talent. The first big spot was Harper giving Rollins a German Suplex off the rope, only for the Shield star to land on his feet. Rollins is such a stunning athlete. The crowd then went wild as he knocked Harper to the outside and hit a big tope. The excitement continued to transition back and forth before the big man Harper unbelievably pulled off a dive of his own to the outside nailing Ambrose. Not to be outdone, Rollins followed up with a somersault plancha to the outside, taking the Wyatt star down. Simply thrilling. Moving forward, Bray and Ambrose brawled into the crowd. This was Dean being written out of the match. Meanwhile Rollins was taken out of action when he was double chokeslammed through the announce table. That left the super over Roman Reigns as the lone man, and he again took the opportunity to enhance his star further with a chorus of "Roman Reigns" chants behind him. A reversal of the Sister Abigail and a series of Superman punches and a spear looked like Reigns would win, but the numbers game proved too much, Bray hit the Sister Abigail for the pin. Winner: The Wyatt FamilyAnalysis: 85% It will finish up as one of the best matches of 2014 potentially, with Rollins in particular standing out for his athletic genius. The other men weren't far behind with Harper and Rowan really proving themselves as top quality big man workers. Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns came off looking like major stars and fans might reflect on what a shame it is that this feud must end. Imagine the potential for a TLC match at Mania and a full on six month war afterwards. These guys could have made so much money together but WWE instead want to rush Bray off for a feud with John Cena.
