WWE Evolution: 10 Things WWE Got Right

3. Not Killing Time With A Pointless Back-Patting Promo

Toni Storm Triple H Stephanie McMahon

The only time fans saw Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at Evolution was in some pre-taped promo skits and when they were bestowing the trophy upon MYC winner Toni Storm. That was for the best. Any more, and fans on social media would have had their usual meltdown about Steph hogging the glory.

Some of that is warranted, and yet it's important to remember how big a deal McMahon is behind the scenes in WWE. Wheeling her out with flowers for Storm and getting her to pose for a few photos didn't eat up unnecessary time, and it in fact left a huge cheesy grin on Toni's face.

No needless back-patting, zero spotlight hogging and no lengthy speeches about what the night meant. Nah, Steph and Hunter just let the women get on with things and only popped up to make the Mae Young Classic seem like a bigger deal. That was the best use of their celebrity on the night.

It should also provide everyone backstage with some food for thought going forward.
