WWE Evolution: 10 Things WWE Got Right

4. Shayna Baszler Making History

Hyper-critical admission time: this guy had forgotten all about the idea that Shayna Baszler would be making NXT history by becoming the brand's first ever two-time Women's Champ. In fairness, WWE themselves didn't make a lot of noise about it, and it seemed more likely that the cute-as-a-button Kairi Sane would retain.

She didn't, and Baszler is now the only woman in brand history to hold that belt twice.

On a list including names like Charlotte Flair, Paige, Asuka and Sasha Banks, that's impressive. Maybe this two-time champion deal will do more for Shayna than a quick shunt upwards to the main roster would. Now, she's finely poised to dominate NXT again and might even bring her Four Horsewomen pals along for the ride.

Much like Toni Storm's MYC win, the pacing of Baszler's title victory was well done. Her win happened straight after the six-woman tag and right before the important 'Last Woman Standing' match for the SmackDown Women's Title. That was another great spot for someone who has emerged from MMA's shadow and turned into a super-comfortable worker.
