WWE Evolution: 8 Matches That Must Happen

7. Io Shirai Vs. Deonna Purrazzo (Mae Young Classic Finals)

Looking at the field for the second Mae Young Classic Tournament, both Io Shirai and Deonna Purrazzo stand out as two of the most likely winners. Shirai has been honing her craft in Japan for over a decade, and Purrazzo has swept through ROH, Impact and Stardom since debuting around five years ago.

If WWE want to show off the Mae Young concept with a killer match in October, they can certainly do worse than Shirai vs. Purrazzo one-on-one.

Ideally, both would get key wins over other tournament entrants like Kaitlyn, Jinny and Tegan Nox (the latter two might even compete for the new UK Women's Title on the show) before advancing to the finals. Then, WWE can crow about how Shirai and Purrazzo are the two shining jewels in a division that's hotting up nicely, and talk both finalists up as potential future champions on the main roster.

Given 15 minutes, they'd be able to work in Shirai's poise (as the former "ace" of Stardom) and Purrazzo's submission-heavy approach. Seeing Io power out of holds like Deonna's Fujiwara Armbar, before going on to win the tournament, sounds exciting.
