WWE Extreme Rules 2014: 10 Match Types We Most Want To See

6. Cage Match

When it comes to classic match types that stand the test of time, the cage match is without a doubt the most prominent type. It's a great match to have when you've got two wrestlers where there needs to be a decisive winner without any interference from any allies or foes. When the cage is lowered, the wrestlers in the ring are left to their own devices. Cages matches are a lot of fun to watch, especially when there's a moment during the match where one wrestler is about to escape, but suddenly gets pulled back into the ring. It creates tension over whether or not one wrestler has the endurance to outlast the other and make it out on his own. At last year's Extreme Rules, Brock Lesnar and Triple H faced each other in a steel cage match for the main event. It signaled the end of the Lesnar/Triple H rivalry, and it could also serve as a fitting final match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt should their rivalry extend beyond WrestleMania. With a cage match, the other members of the Wyatt family are kept out, and much like Daniel Bryan in the aftermath of Wyatt's tag team cage match against The Usos on Raw, there would be no protection for The Eater of Worlds if he should end up alone in the cage with Cena.
