Extreme Rules, Money In The Bank and Battleground are the next pay-per-views on the agenda, but they're not necessarily the most important ones to WWE right now. Everything is building towards what might happen at SummerSlam in August, a fact that will have bearing on events at Extreme Rules and beyond.

Shocks are expected on every pay-per-view, it's just the way we as fans have been conditioned over the years. People expect that titles will also change hands at Extreme Rules, meaning not every one of Roman Reigns, Charlotte, The New Day, The Miz and Kalisto will leave with belts still around their waists.

It's hard to imagine no titles will change hands, but what other surprises could WWE have in store? For example, this false harmony between Shane and Stephanie McMahon can't last forever, it has to be building up to something meaningful.

A grand return could provide the necessary means to salvage something from a situation WWE have handled awkwardly. After all, Shane lost at WrestleMania, so what right does he really have to be calling the shots alongside Steph on Raw?

One man may have something to say about that, let's look at what could shock and stun come Extreme Rules to find out who...

10. The Asylum Match Opens The Pay-Per-View

What better way to set the tone for the rest of the pay-per-view than by featuring an entirely new match type first? Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho are set to step into the Asylum, effectively a Steel Cage with numerous weapons linked to their ongoing feud attached. Right off the bat, Dean's music would get fans hyped.

Some may feel it's far more likely that the WWE Tag-Team or Intercontinental Title bouts will open the main portion of Extreme Rules, so it'd be a shock to see Ambrose and Jericho wage war first. As much of a surprise as it would be, it could actually happen.

Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin look the most likely to take the Kickoff slot in a No Disqualification clash. Imagine the announcers had the chance to hype up the fact that the mysterious Asylum was up next, that would add a lot to Extreme Rules.

WWE have the chance to bookend the show with the biggest matches, opening with Ambrose vs. Jericho and closing with Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles in an Extreme Rules brawl.
