Even more unthinkable than the Asylum Match opening Extreme Rules is a Chris Jericho victory. At first glance, it seems more likely that the writing team would pen a Dean Ambrose win, this is his brand new special (not to mention personalised) match after all. Still, that doesn't mean he's a shoe-in to leave with his hand raised.

Looking back to Payback, Ambrose already defeated Y2J in a straight up singles bout. Therefore, management may want to save the Canadian from a losing streak on consecutive pay-per-views, and book him to pick up a shocking success. It's certainly one that nobody would really see coming.

Everyone expects that Ambrose will win at Extreme Rules, because he arguably needs it more than Jericho does. As a true veteran of the company, Jericho doesn't really get hurt upon losing, and that may be something WWE take into consideration.

If the Asylum opened Extreme Rules, and Chris Jericho actually defeated Dean Ambrose, it'd give the pay-per-view an almighty shot in the arm to kick things off.
