If he can, Rusev would be best-served to forget as much of 2015's Summer months as he can. Unfortunately, it will always exist as a reminder of just how fickle the WWE system can be. A monster heel during the Spring of that year, Rusev was reduced to being a bit-part player stuck in a horrendous angle by the Summer.

Now back with Lana, he looks much more comfortable on the roster. It was imperative that Rusev was booked to beat Kalisto at Extreme Rules, otherwise he would have been set back a few steps and struggling to find his place all over again.

By winning the WWE United States Title on the pay-per-view in handy fashion, he looks like an important part of the roster once more. This is all part of Rusev's rebuilding process, one that has started in earnest since he splintered from the League Of Nations.

His woman back in his corner and a title belt to defend, there's a good chance Rusev will feud with John Cena once the poster boy returns from his latest sabbatical.
