Up until he did put pen to paper on a contract with the company, there were widespread worries over how AJ Styles would fare in WWE. Historically a place obsessed with physical stature, the not exactly monstrous Styles represents something different. Thankfully, he has been used brilliantly since first appearing in January.

A strong showing in the Royal Rumble, lengthy feud opposite Chris Jericho and matches for the WWE World Heavyweight Title have all permeated AJ's stay in WWE thus far. At Extreme Rules, he was allowed to look like a true main event star, not to mention a real threat to Roman Reigns and the WWE Title.

That's a true positive, because it wasn't a guarantee. WWE could have had Reigns roll over the top of Styles, beating him without much fuss and moving on to a feud with Seth Rollins.

Instead, AJ was made to look pretty much equal to Reigns for the bulk of the match, only caught out when The Usos and The Club interfered and took his eye off the ball.
