WWE Extreme Rules 2016: 5 Near-Guarantees & 3 Possible Surprises
7. Near-Guarantee: Rusev Will Win The US Title
It's always risky saying that a title will pass hands with all certainty, but this is an obvious impending title change if ever there was one.
WWE appears to have reinstated its faith in Rusev and Lana as a dominant power couple. Considering how successful they were throughout 2014 before being utterly ruined in 2015, the combination is a proven on-screen success. With any lucky, WWE will finally give Rusev the run he deserved before losing to John Cena at WrestleMania 31.
In order to bolster his stocks, Rusev needs a championship. With Kalisto only making sporadic appearances on Raw since before WrestleMania, the United States Championship is in desperate need of some air time. Rusev's push with the title would not only make the Bulgarian Brute look legitimate but revitalise a historic championship that has lost all meaning since John Cena lost it to Alberto Del Rio last October.
Rusev is poised to walk out of Newark a two-time United States Champion.
