WWE Extreme Rules 2019: 7 Things It Told Us About SummerSlam

2. Another Universal Multi-Man Might Be Necessary

Back at SummerSlam 2017, WWE produced a stunning Fatal-4-Way match between Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe. It was 20 minutes of stunts, weapon shots and spots, and it was a great way to end what had been a fairly tame pay-per-view. 2019 might need a reprise.

The other alternative is Brock vs. Seth Rollins in a WrestleMania repeat. That rematch strategy is WWE's usual thinking anyway when a champion is felled. The problem there is that it leaves so many big names with literally nothing to do, including Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and others.

After bursting through a wall like Shockmaster 2K19 (without the botch) to win his match with Bobby Lashley, Braun deserves better. So too does Reigns. He's in limbo right now, would be booed out the building if he went against Kofi Kingston for the WWE Title and doesn't have anything better going on at SummerSlam than some multi-man.

Lesnar vs. Braun vs. Reigns vs. Rollins could work the same way 2017's match did. Is it the marquee box office smash WWE like? No, but it would solve the issue of how to get half those names onto the card. Food for thought, if nothing else.
