8. It Won't Be Extreme

WWE persists with the branding of Extreme Rules as a 'hardcore' event, but make no mistake, this event won't be much different to any other WWE 'special event'. There are only two gimmick matches on the show, Wyatt and Cena in a cage, Bryan and Kane in an Extreme Rules bout. This is pretty comparable to a standard WWE PPV, seeing a no-dq or cage is nothing spectacular. There might be a couple of nice spots involved, but this will be no more 'extreme' than anything you might see on Raw any given Monday. The weapons to expect will be the standard kendo sticks and chairs to the back. There will be absolutely no blood. This negates much of what made WWE 'extreme' in the last decade before PG broadcasting came in. For those of us who do enjoy 'hardcore wrestling' this will be just another WWE night. Don't come into Extreme Rules actually expecting any extreme content, the spoiler is this, it's going to be soft-core.
