WWE Fastlane 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen
2. AJ Styles Retains The WWE Title By Beating John Cena
Be warned, WWE: book anyone other than AJ Styles to emerge from Sunday as WWE Champ and expect an awful lot of complaints by Monday morning.
Fans are ready to see Styles in a major title match at WrestleMania 34, so it'd be a bit cruel to cut him off at the knees just a month out from 2018's biggest show. If anything, Styles must win strongly and do so by pinning John Cena.
Cena's own tale of being the odd man out come 'Mania shouldn't result in him pushing his way into the WWE Title scene in New Orleans. That's much too obvious, encroaches on the match everyone wants to see (Styles vs. Nakamura) and is an altogether shoddy use of Cena at WrestleMania anyway.
Once AJ pins him and Cena comes around, he'd be distraught. We don't want to see the respectful side of John here. After realising that his WrestleMania plans have been torn up yet again, he'd be resentful towards Styles and show a little heel edge without acting on it.
