WWE Fastlane 2021: 10 Things That Must Happen

Edge must get the last laugh at WWE Fastlane, and Daniel Bryan should be FURIOUS.

WWE are about to conclude their 'Road To WrestleMania', and they likely can't wait.

There's no point in sugarcoating it: Fastlane 2021 is a totally unnecessary pay-per-view, and it must have elicited groans from the creative team when they realised (post-Elimination Chamber) that they had another supershow special to fill - another card without the obvious unique selling point of Chamber too.

Sunday's event could be a nightmare-filled disaster that derails momentum heading into 'Mania. Or, it could be a functional bit of business that actually keeps things ticking along quite nicely before Tampa's fan-filled excitement and the general rush that WrestleMania provides.

It's really up to WWE.

If they want Fastlane to be the latter, then they're gonna have to make some good choices. The right winners must be booked, certain losers should be protected, major returns must happen and more. It's imperative that WWE's "last stop" before April's buzz is a fun addition to the calendar rather than one everybody looks back on with regrets.

Here's everything that has to happen on the last pay-per-view before WWE's biggest of the year...

10. WWE Opens With An Added Tag

This match hasn't been announced at the time of writing, but it's expected.

Montez Ford pinned Robert Roode in that fun eight-man tag on last week's SmackDown, which means he and Angelo Dawkins will probs get another crack at 'dem Dirty Dawgs and their belts. Bring that on, because The Street Profits vs. Dolph Ziggler and Roode has worked well before.

Every pay-per-view needs at least one hot tag-team bout, and this would scratch that itch. It'd be even better if WWE opened the main show with some SmackDown Tag action too - of course, the next challenge is actually building up more face teams to challenge the Dogs. Things are painfully thin in this division.

There's no need to take the titles off Ziggler and Roode either. They've got a good level of chemistry, and the kind of swaggering heelish-ness that's begging for comeuppance. Now just isn't the time, and The Profits aren't the team who should do it.
