WWE Fastlane 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

7. Santos Escobar Beats Up Rey Mysterio

Again, like the Bayley point mentioned earlier, this would be premature and downright daft. WWE can spin rising tensions between mentor Rey Mysterio and protege Santos Escobar out until WrestleMania season, then book a hot heel turn for the latter closer to a date with destiny in Philly.

Spring into things here and Escobar will probs be lost in the mix again by the time January's Rumble rolls around. WWE's roster doesn't need another heel bust, that's for sure. Delicately weaving in an increasing sense of annoyance from Santos towards his idol is preferable to just launching into things at Fastlane.

Patience is everything at times.

It'd be seriously rubbish if the LWO splintered following a six-man loss on Saturday. Yes, Bobby and troops must win, but that shouldn't send the other lot tumbling into 'Splitsville' immediately afterwards. Escobar might well turn into someone valuable if he spits the dummy over something more meaningful than this.
