WWE Greatest Royal Rumble: 10 Things They Got Right

9. Keeping The US Title On Jeff Hardy

Short title reigns are a necessary nuisance in the industry these days, especially when it comes to the secondary belts. There was a worry then that WWE might switch both the United States and Intercontinental Titles in Saudi and reverse which brand both belong to.

That didn't happen, and it was for the best.

Specifically, the US Title had to stay on Jeff Hardy. Seeing Jinder Mahal use the thing as a means to push his xenophobic character was nowhere near as exciting a thought as Hardy wrestling the likes of Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, The Miz, Randy Orton or Shinsuke Nakamura in the near future.

Hardy has better opponents on SmackDown than Mahal does on Raw, and that will (hopefully) make the US Title mean more there than it would around Jinder's waist.
