It's weird to think that an AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura rematch, a Steel Cage war like Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and a match fans hadn't seen in around eight years such as John Cena vs. Triple H paled in comparison to the focus WWE shone on a 50-man Rumble packed with lower-card talent, NXT cameos and a few other surprises (did anyone expect Hiroki Sumi to show up?).

Make no mistake about it, the Greatest Royal Rumble was the only choice to headline the show.

Though it was long and could have done with a little more time being shaved off between entrants (keep count and you'd notice WWE didn't stick to their own 90-second rule), the Rumble was the main course on the night and one of the core reasons why WWE had put so much marketing might behind the event beforehand.

Maybe it's an age thing, but this writer believes any card promoted around a Rumble should be headlined by it.
