Spare a thought for The Usos and Bludgeon Brothers.

Their three-way with The New Day was thrown in the death spot at WrestleMania 34, with its curtailed runtime designed to cool the crowd down from Ronda Rousey's electric debut. Last night should have been the antipode, with SmackDown's top two teams delivering the kind of thriller they've always produced when paired together with a 10-15 minute window, but alas, it was more of the same.

Jimmy and Jey got plenty of offence in this time, with their superior athleticism getting the better of Harper and Rowan on several occasions. They were cut off every time, though. The Bludgeon Brothers were too much, and in the end, their assisted Powerbomb finisher had The Usos defeated in a shade over five minutes.

The match was too short to accomplish anything other than making the Bludgeons look dominant. It succeeded in doing so, but after serving us a big pile of nothing at WrestleMania, it's a shame they weren't allowed to have the kind of bout they once delivered on a many a pay-per-view undercard.

Star Rating: **1/2
