Then: One could likely copy and paste most of what was said about Cash Wheeler, but Scott Dawson deserves better than that. Scott Dawson doesn't copy anyone. Well, other than The Brain Busters, The Hart Foundation and numerous other iconic wrestling tag-teams. Even then, "copy" suggests a dismissive tone towards what The Revival/FTR do.

Honestly? They've been a welcome throwback honouring tag-team traditions for a long time now.

In 2018, honouring traditions wasn't what WWE wanted from their tag division. They wanted wacky gimmicks, odd pairings, comedy ("Ucey Hot") and other such nonsense. Straight up logical tag wrestling had no place on Raw or SmackDown, at least in Vince McMahon's mind. So, like his partner Wheeler, Dawson was a spare part in the Greatest Royal Rumble.

He did, however, last close to 12 minutes before being chucked by Bobby Roode. It was a glorious spot. Ahem.

Now: Scott Dawson changed his name to Dax Harwood when he fled WWE and joined the AEW revolution in mid-2020. Immediately, FTR became a smash hit with All Elite's hardcore fanbase. It just felt right. Their traditionalist style fit AEW better than it fit WWE, especially back then. Now, as was stated during the Cash entry, Triple H would likely trip (ha) over himself to have The Revival back on his roster.

Harwood has earned some scorn from fans who think he pushes AEW's product a little too hard on social media and in on screen promos. What's the alternative? He's hardly going to downplay the company he works for and say: 'Yeah, WWE/TNA/New Japan/MLW is better!'.
