WWE Hall Of Famer 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan Completes Cancer Treatment
Good news from 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan, who has completed his latest round of cancer treatment.
Professional wrestling legend 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan has rang the bell to signal the completion of his cancer treatment.
The 68-year-old broke the news via Instagram earlier this week, uploading a video of the act. Duggan, who has experienced significant health issues recently, was undergoing his second round of treatment since October 2021, when he was initially diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Early December brought brighter news, as Jim hit social media to let the world know he was cancer-free. Unfortunately, this was short-lived. Despite having his prostate removed in October, Duggan announced he was once again fighting the disease in May, though his doctors were optimistic:-
“It seems that my cancer treatment is not over even after the removal of my prostate last October. And tomorrow, I am getting my second hormone shot and Tuesday I am being set up for radiation treatment, which will be eight weeks, five days a week. The doctors are very optimistic that they caught it early. It’s a terrifying time for me and my family. But the doctors also said to go ahead and live life, which we’re going to do.”
A WWE Hall of Fame inductee in 2011, Duggan's most acclaimed work took place for Bill Watts' iconic Mid-South Wrestling in the 1980s, though he found wider fame in WCW and WWE across multiple decades. Winning WWE's first Royal Rumble bout in 1988, he enjoyed a long, prosperous career across multiple promotions, and last appeared for WWE in 2013.
We at WhatCulture would like to wish 'Hacksaw' and those close to him all the best following completion of his treatment.
