WWE Hall Of Famer Says Modern Wrestling "Lacks Fundamentals"

A former WWE Champion has just blasted modern pro wrestling's approach.

Rob Van Dam isn't keen on the kind of wrestling he sees on WWE TV or AEW programming.

The Hall Of Famer told 'Foundation Radio' that modern products tend to "lack fundamentals" in-ring, and that worries him. RVD said more wrestlers need to learn "how to sneak in a backflip or a spin around" the basics rather than just going out there and stringing spots together.

Of course, Van Dam himself was known for having a "spotty" style during his prime in the original ECW and WWE, so some fans will take him to task for blasting modern wrestling this way. The legend probably knows that, but said he always tried to pin his opponents and work in some ground work to keep things fresh.

He's concerned that too many wrestlers do things just to be flashy instead of taking care that they make sense within the context of a match. Again, some are gonna have a field day with that one on social media.

Van Dam believes WWE and AEW stars alike could use a crash course in old-school psychology sooner rather than later.
