WWE Hell In A Cell 2016: 10 Things We Learned
1. Charlotte Is A Three-Time Raw Women's Champion
When it became clear that Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair was going to end Hell In A Cell, fans could be forgiven for predicting a popular babyface victory. WWE have often enjoyed ending pay-per-views on a positive note, and this seemed like the perfect chance to continue that trend.
It's remarkable then that the promotion's hierarchy chose to do something entirely different. Following a protracted series of painful-looking bumps, Charlotte actually pinned Banks and thus became the first three-time Raw Women's Champion in the brief history of the belt. Time seemed to freeze as the referee counted to three.
Pictures on Twitter show fans in attendance looking despondent regarding the result, it's safe to assume many were expecting a win for 'The Boss'. It was not to be on this occasion, Charlotte made history with her big win.
Continuing her stunning run of triumphs on pay-per-view, Flair is building quite the streak. Long may that keep going, Charlotte's performances are among the best - male or female - in the promotion today.
