WWE Hell In A Cell 2016: 11 Things WWE Got Right

7. KO Retains The Universal Championship

Owens retaining the Universal Championship was also the right call. The title has only been in existence for less than three months, too many changes would more than likely spoil the broth. Owens has been booked somewhat weakly since winning the title, but then the fashion in which he won the strap explains this to a degree. Owens came out of nowhere to win the belt, and his character is opportunistic. He won't care how the belt stays, just that it stays.

Owens winning also provides Rollins with a chance to spend some time outside of the title picture. As The Architect made his way to the ring last night Michael Cole noted that it was the 16th straight show in which Rollins had challenged for a championship, opening the eyes of most to how ubiquitous he has been up top. A program with Jericho just under the main will do wonders for him.

Who next for Owens? On RAW Talk following the show Roman Reigns put his hand up, with most of the WWE Universe hoping it was ignored. With most other viable opponents tied up however, a Reigns/Owens program feels somewhat inevitable.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
