It will be interesting in the years to come to see how history remembers this lengthy New Day tag title reign. They have held the belts for over 430 days now, but when it comes to high profile title defences the last year and a bit isn't exactly littered with them.

Since winning the titles at SummerSlam 2014 New Day have a 6-4 record on PPV (not including Survivor Series elimination matches and Network specials), but that doesn't tell the whole story Two of those wins were multi-man matches (a three-way at TLC 2015 and a four-way at Money in the Bank 2016), two came via Trombone interference and one more was thanks to outside interference from a non-participating Kofi Kingston.

They have been a wildly entertaining trio, but this has masked the fact that they have been more damaging to the division itself. Cesaro & Sheamus as champions would represent something of a reset for the entire group of RAW tag teams. Their vague tweener status means they could acceptably defend the titles aginst Enzo & Big Cass, The Club and whoever else.

Cesaro & Sheamus are the sort of du that a division can truly hang their hat on, and seeing them with the big pennies would be best for all involved.
