WWE Hell In A Cell 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen
10. WWE Don't Heap Unwanted Sympathy On Charlotte Flair
Case in point: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch.
Despite WWE's best wishes, it's Becky who is hearing the cheers from the stands, not Charlotte. That's partly down to Lynch's new-found (straight) fire as a bitter heel, but also due to Flair's strutting self-confidence; it's hard to see Becky as anything other than a wronged anti-hero in this situation. She was in Charlotte's shadow.
It'd be a mistake, then, for WWE's writers to try for the sympathy card with Flair. She's the SmackDown Women's Champion, and fans do believe what Becky is saying when she crows about her old pal stomping all over her dreams to take that belt at SummerSlam.
The smart play here would be letting the match play out organically. If people in San Antonio want to root for Lynch against the champ, then let them. WWE must learn that, as hard as they try, they're not in complete control over who fans really like.
