WWE Hell In A Cell 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right

6. Keeping Maryse’s Ring Time Minimal

By comparison to female stars such as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Asuka and others, neither Maryse or Brie Bella are particularly great pro wrestlers. There's a stunted aura to their ring work, almost like they're not 100% sure how to fix things if they go wrong. In short, they're a hangover from the Diva days.

That doesn't mean they're not valuable characters, or that they shouldn't be in the ring full stop.

WWE cleverly protected both by minimising their ring minutes at Hell in a Cell until close to the finish. The women had the final say in the mixed tag match. That was the way it needed to be, and The Miz and Daniel Bryan can now lock horns, maybe for the final time in a while, at Super Show-Down in Australia.

That had to have been the thinking going into this one. It existed only so the heels could whip up more heat over a sympathetic babyface and infuriate him into putting Miz in his place on the stadium show. Why not, eh?
