WWE Issues Statement On ThunderDome Fans Displaying Offensive Imagery
The company speaks out against one "fan" in particular.
WWE has issued a statement on fans displaying offensive imagery through the ThunderDome virtual viewing concept after a person dressed in KKK garb made it onto this week's episode of RAW.
Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin contacted the promotion for comment, receiving the following in response:-
“This abhorrent behavior does not reflect WWE‘s values and we have zero tolerance for these unacceptable acts. We are working to ban those involved from future events and per our policies, any inappropriate actions result in the removal from the live stream.”
Other things to slip through WWE's digital net and onto their programming so far include a "Fire Velveteen Dream" sign at SummerSlam, Pikachu, Super Mario, the last photograph of Chris Benoit before he passed away, and a beheading video. There was a fake story going doing the rounds recently suggesting that Sonya Deville's stalker's mugshot had made onto SummerSlam while Deville was wrestling Mandy Rose, though this has been disproven.
ThunderDome streams thousands of fans into Orlando's Amway Center at once, making it a nightmare to monitor and control. Here's hoping WWE is able to find a system that prevents future incidents.
