8. Or This Could Be The Huge Selling Point Of December's TLC Pay Per View
Think back to Wrestlemania 2000, The Rock vs Triple was the hottest ticket in wrestling. However, instead of putting it on the biggest stage, Vince McMahon decided to hold off on that match and do it at the next month's pay per view instead. The result was that the WWF pulled a huge number for Mania regardless, and then also did a stunning pay per view buy on the next month's B level pay per view by giving it the Rock vs HHH Mania level main event. Perhaps this is what the WWE will do with the unification angle. If Orton and Cena were to clash at TLC, the B level show would have an excellent selling point beyond its normal gimmick matches. In many ways it would make more business sense for WWE to do the prestigious unification bout at TLC, they know that Mania will draw regardless, but they could really elevate the TLC PPV by blessing it with a hugely historic match. The fact that Cena got in Orton's face at the end of Survivor Series does seem to indicate that we will get this champion vs champion bout sooner rather than later. You would think WWE would have played it out a lot more subtly if they were thinking of it for the long term. It makes sense that the two men meet at TLC, they both now have no real opponent for the next PPV - Cena is done with Del Rio and Big Show will not be given a second chance at Orton. TLC could make further sense in the fact it is built around ladder matches. WWE may do it where the WWE title and World title are suspended above the ring, and the person who climbs the ladder to retrieve both then becomes the undisputed champion. The WWE has unified the WWE and World titles before in December (back in 2001), it looks like we could be seeing another unification this December.
