WWE King Of The Ring 2019: 7 Ways WWE Can Make It Work
4. Use It As A Springboard To Other Feuds
This point is true regardless of which wrestler actually wins King Of The Ring.
WWE have 15 different combinations waiting for them across three rounds of action. There will be eight matches at the first stage, another four in the quarter finals, two in the semis and then the final itself. That means there's a ton of potential to create new rivalries and give fans some matches they otherwise might not see.
Ricochet vs. Andrade could be one, and so could bouts like Ali vs. Sami Zayn, Cesaro vs. Chad Gable, Drew McIntyre vs. Elias and more. All of those could work as feuds; Ricochet vs. Andrade sells itself as two promising stars squaring off, Ali would dislike Sami's preachy nature, Cesaro vs. Gable is a wrestling classic waiting to happen and both Drew and Elias have been Shane McMahon lackeys as of late.
The actual tournament itself isn't the end of things, or at least it shouldn't be. After KOTR is done, WWE can switch focus onto burgeoning rivalries created during the brackets. Some intense, competitive and bad-tempered matches across all four rounds would make creative's job simple.
