WWE King Of The Ring 2019: 7 Ways WWE Can Make It Work
3. Peak At Clash Of Champions
The latest King Of The Ring kicks off this coming Monday 19 August on Raw. Assuming WWE then run some matches on SmackDown 24 hours later, they'll whittle down the numbers pretty quickly and start moving towards the final match. That final deserves to take place on pay-per-view.
15 September's Clash Of Champions is ideal. It revolves around championships, something KOTR must be deemed as if it stands any hope of retaining importance when it's finished. A final on pay-per-view also gives the illusion of grandeur too, and it's much preferable to crowning the 2019 winner on plain old TV just to fill time.
There's no excuse if WWE rush through things before the next supershow.
The first round can take place on 19/20 August, the quarters on 26/27 August, Raw and SmackDown can take a semi each on the respective 2/3 September editions and then that leaves one week of build towards the final showdown. Those 9/10 September episodes would be used to cut duelling promos, revisit the tournament thus far and build excitement towards the winner being crowned that Sunday.
