WWE Leaks: 10 Facts About Dolphins1925 Giving Away PPV Results

9. The WWE Response

vince mcmahon The resulting media coverage about Dolphins1925 as a WWE leak forced the company in to releasing a statement. By July the company was well aware that someone was releasing their planned results, and eventually decided they would give the media a soundbite following a rush of queries from the press. The WWE press release stated, "We may have a modern day Nostradamus on our hands. We might have to monitor these posts in advance of our next pay-per-view to see how good he or she really is." It was a light hearted response. Personally, I suspect that Vince McMahon was quietly fuming. It is a trusted circle at the top in WWE, the fact that somebody was breaking the kayfabe code was likely worrying to the old school among the WWE. There is also arguably a business interest in not letting results leak out, fans could possibly be put off ordering a pay per view. An internal investigation was probably put in place for August, but externally it seems that the company wasn't really all that fussed. Over the summer, Dolphins1925 leaks continued. Either WWE had failed in their investigation, or they really didn't care and felt it made no difference to pay per view buys. It was reported that company officials were "embarrassed" because of the media coverage, not because of the actual leak. In August it got reported that the leak had in fact been identified, but when Dolphins1925 gave the results for Summerslam away the theory that WWE had caught the leak was exposed as false.
