WWE legend Booker T performed a brutal verbal takedown on AEW's business practices during a recent edition of his 'Hall Of Fame' podcast. According to Book, Tony Khan's company is little more than a "safe haven" and "retirement spot" for aging wrestlers looking to make one last payday before hanging up their boots.

The NXT announcer even went so far as to say that he wishes All Elite Wrestling had been around towards the end of his active in-ring career: "I'd have camped out. I'd have just camped out, made me a little tent. I wouldn’t have been going nowhere, man, because I’m serious, they pay you not to work in AEW".

When explaining that last point there, Booker turned his attention to old WCW and WWE peer Ric Flair. He said he's been hearing that the 'Nature Boy' is still under a lucrative contract to Khan's league, but isn't actually asked to do anything in return. "What has he done? What has Ric Flair done for AEW? It's a safe haven. It's definitely a retirement spot if you’re looking to wrap this thing up the right way. I get it, man. I get it. Seriously".

Ouch.

AEW fans and insiders would argue that the promotion is way more than a "safe haven" for retiring oldies, but Booker is having none of it. Of course, he's been critical of All Elite circles in the past. His WWE status has also made many doubt whether or not the former multi-time World Champion has a not-so-hidden agenda against AEW.
