CM Punk and Road Dogg almost came to blows backstage in WWE years ago.

Road Dogg told this story on his new, 'Oh...You Didn't Know?!' podcast. According to the Hall Of Famer, Punk was "a lot more professional and calm than [he] was at the time" - Dogg chewed Punk out for the way he was carrying himself as World Champion, and that didn't sit well with the 'Straight Edge Saviour'.

Both men got into a shouting match. Well, Roadie was shouting and Punk was calmer, but that altercation landed the pair in Vince McMahon's office to thrash things out. The WWE boss made them shake hands and apologise for the situation.

Road Dogg admitted on his pod that he "just didn't get" why Punk was on top of company cards. He obviously knows that CM deserves a ton of respect now, but back then? The former D-Generation X man wasn't feeling it and thought McMahon should run with someone else as WWE Champ.

Putting things mildly, Dogg said he and Punk "didn't see eye-to-eye". No, but they almost went punch-for-punch backstage behind the curtain!
