WWE Money In The Bank: 10 Things We Learned

9. The Prime Time Players Win Tag-Team Titles

It's pretty shocking to think that The Prime Time Players had never held the WWE Tag-Team Titles up until defeating The New Day at Money In The Bank. Having been a team (on and off) since 2012, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil really should - by all rights - have captured the belts at least once by now. Even so, despite it being their first time as champions, the win over Xavier Woods and Big E seemed to come pretty out of the blue. After The New Day had fought through a lot more resistance to retain their titles during the first ever tag-team Elimination Chamber match, there really needed to be something better than a somewhat short match at the following PPV to dethrone them. It's hard to begrudge The Prime Time Players on their win, they are an entertaining, moderately popular duo, but it does kill the momentum of The New Day a little. Part of the whole appeal for the group was that they had the titles to brag about, and they are a good heat magnet, so stripping them of the gold doesn't really make a whole load of sense at this point.
