WWE Money In The Bank 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

5. Naomi Beating Lana

Wow, Lana didn't really look prepared for her first singles match on pay-per-view, did she? It wasn't that her match with Naomi was bad necessarily, it just wasn't up to scratch of other encounters featuring the likes of Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch. The 'Ravishing Russian' needs a little more seasoning, it seems.

Therefore, writing Naomi to beat her and retain the SmackDown Women's Title made sense. This match exposed how far Lana has to go before she's at that championship level, and seeing her defeat Naomi wouldn't have sat well; Naomi turned herself from eye candy to serious wrestler a few years ago, so that ought to be Lana's mission as well.

Lana looked the part (although with a little less muscle than her opponent) and didn't exactly blow it, but giving her the gold at this point in time would have been a mistake by WWE. The wiser decision was keeping that title with Naomi, at least for now.
