Moving Kevin Owens to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-Up has proven to be a smart decision. The former ‘Prizefighter’ had been ran into the ground throughout his atrocious Universal Title reign, and while the Chris Jericho feud restored much of his goodwill, SD has been a happy home for him thus far.

Moving to Tuesday nights and becoming ‘The New Face Of America’ has put him back at the forefront, and made him one of the show’s most important performers. The United States Championship has struggled for years, but it’s fast approaching respectability again, and much of that is down to KO and his ongoing feud with AJ Styles.

While Owens’ opportunistic character would make him an outstanding briefcase holder, his status as US Champion severely limits his chances at Money In The Bank. He can absolutely play a key main event role in the future, but all signs point towards him and AJ Styles resuming their US Title feud after the pay-per-view. That isn’t to say Owens is a complete write-off, but WWE are unlikely to cloud his focus by giving him Styles and the MITB briefcase to occupy himself with.

Chances: Slim.
