Anyone worried that WWE might use Daniel Bryan's return as little more than a vehicle to get Big Cass over as a monster heel on SmackDown would have been delighted to see the big man submit cleanly to the comeback king.

This is surely the last we'll see of their feud. Everyone fancies seeing Bryan have another crack at the main event scene, and that's possible now the Cass speed bump has been conquered. This, even more so than Backlash's similar result, feels like a defining moment for Bryan.

Now, he can move on to bigger and better things.

It was vital that he won without any shenanigans, especially considering those to come later in the night from other matches. Opening the main card with a clean, popular victory for such a cherished character was clever business from WWE. Sometimes, there's nothing wrong with making the live crowd feel good.
