WWE Money In The Bank 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right

5. Bringing Back James Ellsworth

WWE made a mistake by terminating James Ellsworth's contract late last year. As Carmella's dorky lackey, the no-chinned wonder was in his element and had settled into a nice groove after a surprise run against SmackDown's main event regulars like Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles.

He was never going to reach those heights again, but he had something to offer as a deluded Vanilla Ice wannabe who helped his darling 'Mella when the chips were down. Carmella and Ellsworth are an odd couple package who just work. They've got natural chemistry, the kind that turns poor promo writing into sheer gold.

Bringing him back into the mix at Money In The Bank and, crucially, using him as a reason why Asuka came up short in her quest to become SmackDown Women's Champion was smart. Ellsworth is a quirky character who's believable in his role (despite the hokey nature of it) and he's excellent foil for Carmella.

Besides, it puts heat on Carmella whenever she verbally berates Jimmy for her own mistakes.
