WWE Money In The Bank 2019: Star Ratings For All 12 Matches
9. Shane McMahon Vs. The Miz - Steel Cage Match
The finish was such WWE copout bullsh*t that it wouldn’t have really mattered if the preceding match was a legit success—but it wasn’t.
Massively rushed by the grace of God, the fates weren’t entirely benevolent, for Miz unleashed the sh*ttiest five star frog splash of all time. He landed on his feet and sort of stumbled downwards towards Shane, as if very apprehensive about hurting him, in a steel cage match, in a deeply personal grudge feud.
Even by WWE standards, little was sold. Even by Shane’s standards, his submissions look sh*tty. The perverse entertainment factor that once carried this programme has vanished entirely. This was piss-poorly worked, served only to build a match that will accomplish nothing, and the finish, while creative, wasn’t good creative. It was Matt Hardy in the years before the Broken Universe creative. This will not, as presumably hoped, create any appetite for Shane Vs. Roman Reigns. We’re all meant to hope and pray that Roman finally brings the arrogant prodigal son back to earth, but it’s not the 1980s anymore.
Nobody cares about the plotting; we’re too far through the looking glass, and can only see another sh*tty Shane match in the distance.
