WWE Money in the Bank Results - CM Punk Retains, John Cena Wins Briefcase

WWE Money in the Bank PPV results from the US Airways Center, in Phoenix, Arizona. The pre-show for the PPV begins with Zack Ryder backstage with Santino Marella. Damien Sandow walks in and says he will win the World Heavyweight Title contract in the Money in the Bank ladder match ladder tonight. a) WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth defeated Hunico & Camacho in a non-title match. Truth dropped Camacho on his head for the pinfall. Josh Matthews talks to Chris Jericho backstage who says he will be considered The Greatest of All Time after his performance in the Money in the Bank match tonight. Daniel Bryan is interviewed backstage and asked about the wedding proposals on RAW. Bryan says AJ is his future wife, not his ex-girlfriend and that she is an honest and caring woman. He will emerge tonight with the WWE Title and with AJ's heart. WWE Money in the Bank stars with Michael Cole, Booker T and Jerry "The King" Lawler on commentary... 1) WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match Contract for a World Heavyweight Title Shot Dolph Ziggler defeated Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Tensai, Tyson Kidd & Sin Cara to win the World Title briefcase. Spot face crazy match. The finish came when Ziggler and Christian were fighting for the briefcase and Ziggler got the win. Sheamus is talking backstage and says he isn't worried about Dolph Ziggler nor Alberto Del Rio tonight heading into their match. Justin Roberts introduces The Miz who comes out to the stage. He says he has been off filming a movie but is sick and tired of being overlooked. He announces that tonight he will be in the Money in the Bank ladder match featuring former WWE Champions. Why this didn't happen on RAW last week, I'll never know. 2) WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus defeated Alberto Del Rio to retain the title with the Brogue Kick clean. After the match, Ricardo jumps on Sheamus' back to stop his celebration. Del Rio attacks Sheamus down to the mat and stomps a whole in him. Dolph Ziggler's music hits and out he comes with his briefcase and talks with the referee. Sheamus gets up and hits him with a Brogue Kick first before the match can start. Ziggler still has a shot and Sheamus poses with the World Title all the way to the back. What a way to make Ziggler look like a geek just moments after putting him over in the ladder match. You ain't going to elevate him by knocking him down to the midcard so soon like this. 3) Primo & Epico (w/ Rosa Mendes) defeated The Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young - w/AW) when Primo got the roll-up on Young for the victory. WWE Tag Team Champs Kofi Kingston & R-Truth were at ringside wearing suits. AW says it doesn't matter his team lost the match as they are still number 1 contenders for the belts. AW & The Prime Time Players argue with Kingston & Truth. Truth throws water on AW WWE Title match is up next (Yes, it's criminally not the main event). AJ Lee is backstage talking to Matt Striker and says CM Punk is an amazing human being. She says Daniel Bryan is her first love and starts to go crazy before walking off to the match. 4) WWE Champion CM Punk defeated Daniel Bryan in a No DQ match to retain his title when AJ Lee was the referee. The finish came when Punk backdropped Bryan off the top and onto a table, with AJ counting the three. She looked confused and upset when Bryan was laid out on the table. 5) Ryback defeated Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins in a handicap match. Went a little longer than the usual squash. Ryback won with the Shell Shocked on Reks.6) WWE Divas Champion Layla, Kaitlyn & Tamina Snuka defeated Beth Phoenix, Natalya & Eve Torres when Layla dropped Beth for the victory.7) WWE Money in the Bank WWE Title Contract Ladder Match John Cena defeated Kane, Chris Jericho, Big Show and The Miz to win the briefcase. Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Title Shot: Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Big Show vs. John Cena vs. The Miz We go to the ring for tonight's main event and out first comes Kane. Chris Jericho is out next followed by The Miz, Big Show and then John Cena to a big pop. Cena knocked Big Show off the ladder for the victory.
