Cash In: Successful.

Holding his briefcase for less than 30 days, Alberto Del Rio cashed in his contract at SummerSlam 201 after CM Punk had just become the undisputed WWE Champion against John Cena and won his first ever WWE Title - thanks to a big Kevin Nash assist.

This meant that Del Rio had become the first ever Mexican-born WWE Champion.

He'd lose and regain the belt over the next couple of months, before eventually losing it to Punk at Survivor Series 2011.

In 2013, Del Rio won his first World Heavyweight Championship from Big Show on an episode of SmackDown and successfully retained the belt against Jack Swagger at WrestleMania 29, before another star (who we'll get to) cashed in their MITB contract and took the belt from him the next night on Raw.

Del Rio was eventually fired from the company in 2014 for "unprofessional conduct", after a clash with a WWE employee who reportedly made a racist remark towards him. He continued to wrestle in promotions such as AAA and Lucha Underground in his time away from WWE, but he returned to Vince McMahon's promotion in 2015 and immediately won the U.S. title from John Cena at Hell in a Cell.

Fed up after a year back in the company, Del Rio left again in 2016 and appeared in WCPW, before stepping into the world of Impact Wrestling for a spell.

Del Rio (under his real name of Alberto Rodríguez) also took part in his first MMA contest since 2010 last year when he faced off against UFC legend Tito Ortiz in a losing effort.
