The number of people streaming the WWE Network outside of America is less than 5% of the 700,000 subscriptions. It was previously thought that the subscriber number could have been boosted by European and Canadian subscribers, who had found a loop-hole to get around the Network's American only designation. That wasn't the case. Initial fears of up to 100,000 of the 700,000 subscribers coming from outside of the USA have proved unfounded. The way we know this, is via the latest Wrestling Observer, which reports that "less than five percent of network subscribers are paying via Paypal." That's key to the loop-hole in getting the WWE Network abroad. As a British user, PayPal is used to cover for the fact that there's no American bank account. It offers anonymity. As all foreign subscribers are having to go through Paypal, that means there must be less than 35,000 non-American users. Now bear in mind that there'll also be many genuine American Paypal users in that 35,000 number. We are therefore perhaps looking at less than 17,000 WWE Network subscribers from outside of America. That can only be considered a good thing for the WWE. It means that international markets will be ripe for the Network's global roll out on August 12th and later Autumn months. The few of us who have been subscribing from abroad have not distorted the WWE's Network numbers to any great effect.
