6. Foley And Funk Get Dumped
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQA2HYZT04w Not content with destroying one of the biggest tag teams of all time, the Outlaws moved onto two more wrestling legends in Mick Foley and Terry Funk. The Outlaws started using their numbers advantage on Foley, beating him up over the course of a few weeks as he made appearances as his different personas. Dude Love was beaten with a chair and thrown off a stage and Mankind was attacked backstage. On the final Raw of 1997, Foley brought back Cactus Jack who promised he had a surprise to even the odds. After the Outlaws again teamed up on Jack, the surprise was revealed when Terry Funk cut his way out of a box on the stage as Chainsaw Charlie. The Outlaws got some motivation from a familiar source when Triple H and Shawn Michaels approached them and told them they needed to start making waves and act a bit more like DX. On the February 2nd Raw, Foley and Funk had a match against each other to see who was the better hardcore legend. The Outlaws took this match as their cue and pounced when Foley and Funk ended up inside a dumpster. The Tag Team Champions locked their foes in the dumpster and pushed it off the stage. WWE officials, superstars and even Vince McMahon rushed to the scene to free the men from the crashed dumpster as the commentators passed it off as a majorly serious incident where the Outlaws "went into business for themselves." In an interview after the incident, DX told that the Outlaws did what they had to do in pushing the envelope, just like DX are forced to do every week. Gunn and Road Dogg were now almost literal outlaws, being the target of everyone else in the company. This set the stage for a classic Dumpster Match between the two teams at WrestleMania 14 in which Cactus and Chainsaw walked away victorious. The following night on Raw, The Outlaws won the Tag Team titles again in a cage match against the two with the help of Degeneration X, signaling their official joining of the group.
