WWE Newcastle Live Review – 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know

10. No Local Hero

Going into the show, it was known that Neville was on the other leg of the tour that was in Dublin, Ireland when the Newcastle show would be going on. This was a shame, as Neville is from Newcastle and this would have been a nice homecoming for him. With that said, there was surprisingly little clamour for him at the arena. You might have expected chants for Neville or fans bringing signs with his name, but there was none of that. Perhaps the casual audience hasn't quite latched on to him yet, but having just made his Raw debut it would have surely been a good pop moment to have him on this Newcastle show. Indeed, last April the WWE used Neville on the Newcastle house show. He got a great reception, even though he was still only on NXT at that point. WWE missed a trick by not doing the hometown hero angle on this tour, but there'll be plentiful opportunities in the future. Understandably, WWE wanted him for a match against Finn Balor for the Irishman's first WWE match in Dublin. That was a great piece of booking for the Irish show. Neville is legitimately one of the best pro wrestlers in the company. His agility and timing is spectacular. It's cool to see a Toon lad doing well and he's stayed humble in all of his rise. Hopefully we'll see him back home next time.
